The Thinking Stick
Started in September of 2005, The Thinking Stick Blog started as a project to learn about blogging, php scripting and the new Web 2.0 world that everyone was talking about. The Thinking Stick is an actual bat that I carry with me given to me my first year of teaching by a good friend. The Thinking Stick Blog is my main thought engine. A place where I contemplate, think, and archive my thoughts, links, and conversations with people around the world.
U Tech Tips
Started in January of 2006, U Tech Tips grew from a weekly e-mail sent to a couple teachers I was working with to being passed around from educator to educator. I was soon getting requests from educators to be added to the mailing list…of which one did not exist. I discovered that teachers were saving these e-mails just in case they needed something mentioned in one of them for their classrooms. Soon after I decided to start the blog U Tech Tips in which each Monday I take the week’s posting and create a newsletter that is mailed to roughly 450 educators around the world. Eventually, I asked other educators to join me in posting information, links, articles, and thoughts that they thought would be relevant to teachers. The group blog continues to grow both in subscribers and in authors. In September of 2006, U Tech Tips started producing screencasts to help walk teachers through some of these new Web 2.0 tools. These screencasts can be found both on the web site and on YouTube and have become extremely popular.
On Deck
Started in March of 2007, On Deck is a random podcast site where I verbally talk about what I’m thinking, conversations I’m having via Skype and just a place for me to help refine my podcasting skills.
