Moving into the C.A.V.E.
O.K. so I don't know how to give myself a haircut, but I have an office now in Second Life. Located on the second floor of the C.A.V.E. (Center for Advanced Virtual Education)
Thanks to Kevin Jarrett (KJ HAX) for inviting me in and for Doug Johnson (BlueSkunk Johnson) for sharing his office space with me.
Sunday morning I woke up early grabbed a cup of coffee and met BlueSkunk and KJ at the CAVE for my first lesson and to set up shop. KJ was awesome! He set me up with this nice glass desk, a chair and two nice ferns that remind me of Bali. I learned how to move objects and how to teleport someone to your location. Good stuff! KJ also hooked me up with a picture for the wall. A little real life in SL. Not sure where all this is leading too. Right now I'm just trying to figure out what I can do here, places to visit and how I might use SL in both the Graduate class I'm teaching this summer and with students next year. I'm sure you'll be hearing more about Second Life in the coming months as the school year winds down (13 days left!) and my summer moves into full swing.
If you would like to visit my new office space, you can create a free Second Life account and then click here to be taken to my office.
